Care Home Activities

IMG_0592_1.JPGDaily activities are essential to keep life interesting and mind and body active and sharp; our carers and activity co-ordinator work hard to provide a range of activities and day trips to our residents.

Daily entertainment includes a number of social spaces inside and outside which can be used for reading, socialising, or enjoying your own quiet time; we have a small library of books and encourage all residents to keep up hobbies and activities they used to engage in at home.

Our dedicated activity area is ideal for this purpose, offering a practical space with work surfaces well removed from the quiet lounges for people wanting to read or nap; we offer our own library.

Of course we also encourage trips outside and usually arrange day trips to the beach, for coffee, sightseeing or shopping with just a few residents and one carer in a car; these small scale trips are easier to organise and operate and ensures residents get more individual choice in where they’re going and enjoy more focused attentions from the carer.

More regular activities include TV and radio entertainment, games afternoons, reminiscence sessions and coffee mornings, all ideal for keeping active, social and getting to know all the other staff and residents.

Our residents enjoy weekly visits by Elsa the pat dog who visits each resident every Tuesday morning.

So whatever your hopes for a residential care home, contact us at anytime to come and visit the Lodge and enjoy the atmosphere for yourselves!
